Goin’ Bald for Bucks is a bold and meaningful way to show your support for the cutting-edge cancer research and compassionate patient-care programs. Planning a Bald for Bucks event can be intimidating if you’ve never done it before, but it is fun, rewarding and we make it as easy as possible!
Hosting a Bald For Bucks event at your school is a great way to teach students the importance of community and rallying together for a great cause. Plus, there’s a bunch of ways students, faculty and staff can participate together! Events require planning and organization, but ultimately it provides students with a great leadership opportunity where they can build essential skills for their future.
It all starts with identifying a school leader — a teacher, administrator or coach who can champion the event. Goin’ Bald for Bucks staff will help the school leader bring this bold and impactful event to their school.
Choose a date, time and location for your Bald for Bucks event. Be sure to book your space right away and get your date on everyone’s calendar. Recruit your friends, family, classmates, students or co-workers to help you plan your event and spread the word. Start thinking about stylists who can help with the shaving and cutting, and whatever else you might want to do at your event.
Now that you have your event details locked in, tell the Bald for Bucks staff about it by registering your event online. Get connected with the team who will support you along your event-planning journey. Once you’ve registered, we will drop you an email and say hi!
Registration is free and must be done online. It’s through this process that you’ll get to set up your online fundraising page. If you are under the age of 17, you’ll need your parent or guardian to submit your registration.
After you register, we will mail you a special event packet filled with tools you can use to throw an awesome event and tips to help you fundraise. Keep an eye on your mailbox for your packet filled with posters, balloons, banners and much more! It is our job to help you succeed!
Share your event details with everyone you know and ask them to join you as you snip, clip and shave your way to cancer cures! The bigger your team, the more funds you can raise together. And be sure to check out our tool kit page for additional materials and fundraising support.
Make sure you are well-staffed for your Bald for Bucks event day. Create a supply list and to-do list. Then divide the tasks among your volunteers. Remember, a picture is worth a thousand words; make sure to take great pictures so these memories can share the success of your event on social media, in newsletters and emails. A picture is also a great way to thank your donors!
