Something magical happens when schools come together for a great cause. Teachers, staff members, parents and students make a real difference by participating in Bald for Bucks. All funds raised directly benefit cancer care and research at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, meaning your participation directly impacts our community.
Shave or cut your hair, add a strand of color or change up your style in whatever way suits you best. Schools that Go Bald together, stay strong together.
“I’m super proud of my boys; that they’re advocates and supporting this cause at a young age. They want to make a difference. That’s a result of our family being touched by a cancer diagnosis,” said Sandhya Singh, a Bald for Bucks parent.
Are you looking for a fun way to teach your kid(s) about the importance of giving back? Interested in helping them make a real difference right here in Buffalo?
“It’s not just an event, it is a memory. It is a movement. It is a community that you are bringing together to do something amazing and grand that’s going to help people all throughout Western New York,” said Jessica Kardashian, teacher/Bald for Bucks coordinator.
The influence teachers have can help shape students for the rest of their lives. No matter the reason you decided to become a teacher, Bald for Bucks is a great way to bring your classroom and school together for a cause that we all support — helping end cancer. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to connect with your students or make a difference in our Buffalo community, creating a Bald for Bucks fundraiser at your school is the perfect opportunity.
“Kindness is being proactive in your community. I’m trying to cheer other people up by doing Bald for Bucks,” said Leeyana Cheek, Bald for Bucks participant.
Not only is Bald for Bucks a fun way to rock a new hairstyle with your friends, but it’s also a great leadership opportunity that helps build community inside and outside the classroom.
You’ll learn how to fundraise and promote your event, how to thank your donors, the importance of giving back and so much more.
